RapidShare Enforces 15 Minutes Wait Time Download Limit for Free Users

I guess our routers and modem have rested long enough from auto reconnect and now we have to start doing that again. If you didn’t notice, RapidShare has RE-introduced download limits for free users again. This means that there is a wait time before we can continue downloading then next file from RapidShare when we’ve just finished downloading one. From what I tested, when I wanted to download a 200MB file from RapidShare, I had to wait for 99 seconds before I can start downloading and when I’ve completed downloading, I had to wait for 15 minutes before I can download the next file. I got the message “You have reached the download limit for free-users. Would you like more? Get your own premium account now! Instant download access! Or try again in about 15 minutes.” I then tried downloading a 10MB file, had to wait 30 seconds first then after finished downloading, same thing, I am required to wait for 15 minutes before I can download the next file. 15 minutes wait time is not really long compared to previous restriction but it can be annoying when we’re left with only a few files to complete downloading the whole package. To beat the 15 minutes restriction, here are some third party auto reconnect RapidShare download managers which I’ve previously recommend that you can use.

One thing I couldn’t understand on RapidShare is the constant changing of their rules. Just a week ago they claimed that they have upgraded their infrastructure to increase the speed in downloading and upload. When traffic is low, the free users can download or upload at the speed of 2 megabit per second! But during high traffic, the speed can drop to as low as 0.2 megabit per second. I still remember that many months ago I could download from RapidShare at full speed but required to wait for an hour to download the next file. A week ago, they limited the download speed but removed the waiting period. Now, they limited the download/upload speed AND added waiting period. I don’t know about you but it sure pisses me off… To beat the 15 minutes RapidShare wait time, we need to change our external IP address which we get from our ISP. Most of us have dynamic IP address that changes whenever we disconnect and reconnect. For those with static IP address that IP never changes and wants to download from RapidShare without limits for free, you can either use proxy which is slow and unstable or find a working rapidshare premium link generator. There are a lot of rapidshare downloaders nowadays but I am only going to talk about two famous 3rd party rapidshare download manager which you might already know. CryptLoad and jDownloader. CryptLoad is able to reconnect your internet connection using Modem, Router, or Start file method. The modem method is when you use dial up connection. As for Router, it uses CLR script to auto connect to your router to reconnect your connection. You can refer to this help page on how to create your own CLR file. Start file method is when you need to run external file such as Macro recordings, batch files and etc. You can access these settings by running CryptLoad, go to Options, and click the Router icon.

[ Download CryptLoad ] jDownloader is my latest favorite RapidShare downloader. I actually stopped using CryptLoad for a while now and has been using only jDownloader. I’d say that jDownloader is more advanced and has more options. jDownloader supports LiveHeader/Curl, External file, Batch script, and even CyptLoad’s CLR script! To access the reconnect options in jDownloader, you can either hit F11, click Advanced Configuration and click on the Reconnect tab, or Extras > Configuration > Advanced Configuration > Reconnect.
